Reflection on Lesson 1 - Three Little Pig Puppets:
Although there are a few changes that need to be made, overall I feel that this lesson went well. The reason I feel this lesson went well is because I prepared so much before hand. I made sure to know the main parts of the story, printed off templates, labeled everything and I even folded the corners of the wolf bags. In the end I prepped 15 pig puppets and 5 wolf puppets and labelled each one, it was a lot of work but it benefited me in the end.
One change I would make is to Activity #2. I would not ask the students to return to their desks next time, I would ask them to stay at the carpet and lead the discussion. When the students move back to their desks they were no longer engaged and I also realized that the students did not know how to summarize yet.
Next time I will give clearer instructions at the start of each activity. I should explain that if students finish cutting they may start gluing and if they finish gluing they may start adding details. Also I forgot to clarify which side of the bag is the right side (I realized to late that’s important). Just something I need to do in general is follow through on rules and make sure students are following the so I can maintain control of the class.
Goals: Give clearer instructions and follow through.

Reflection:
This lesson was much smother than the first; I was more organized, gave clear instructions and followed through. I kept a timer on the board to help me keep track of time; so that I could make sure students would have enough time to perform. To help keep students aware of time I made sure to keep them updated by saying: You have five minutes left you should be at this part... you have 3 minutes let you should be finishing up, this worked really well with this group. There were some students missing from last class, but luckily I was prepared and had made puppets for them, all they had to do was make it their own. There were students missing during this lesson, so I had to fill in and be a wolf for one group while another group decided to have one person play two characters.
Students were constantly moving, from their desks, to the carpet, to different areas in the classroom. I gave students a chance to co-construct knowledge, as well as individually. They had the chance to work individually, in small groups and as a whole class. Despite the students constantly moving there was never chaos in the classroom everything was always under control.
One thing I have noticed with students is I have to be careful of my vocabulary. I used the word emotion and noticed that the students had no idea what the word meant so I made sure to explain it to them. As teachers we need to be observant because students will not always tell us when they do not understand.
I had the chance at the end of the lesson to actually get feedback from the students and ask them if they liked the lesson and if there was anything I could do to make it better. The students told me that next time they would like props (little straw houses, etc.). All I could do was smile because I had wanted to do this as well, but decided we did not have the time. If I could change anything I would change the length of the lessons and would like to have more class to teach this lesson. I was only able to touch the tip of the ice burg. That being said, I am impressed with how much I managed to squeeze into an hour-long lesson.

The day I did this lesson my TA was away, and she had encouraged the sub to give me feedback. This is what he had to say:
